RECOMMENDATIONS

The Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management course provides theory and practice for food preparation and service required for success in the food service industry. Students learn how to operate and care for kitchen equipment, prepare and serve food, plan menus and a variety of skills required to operate and maintain a restaurant. Students practice their serving techniques at the on-site restaurant. Participants have the opportunity to achieve multiple national certifications.

COURSE CONTENT

A Food Service student should:

 

- Have the ability to work under pressure

EMPLOYMENT

Food and beverage preparation and service workers make up one the largest occupational groups in our nation's labor force. Job opportunities exist almost everywhere for persons who have had courses in commercial food preparation.

Chef Tim Brown has been the Culinary Arts and Restaurant Service Instructor at Crawford County Career and Technical Center since 2017. Prior to teaching at CCCTC, he taught Secondary Education Culinary Arts at Wickenburg High School in Arizona.

Chef Brown holds a Chef de Cuisine Certification from the American Culinary Federation. Chef brings twelve years of hospitality industry experience to share with his students. His experience ranges from fine dining, ski resorts, and family dining. The majority of his career was spent as the Chef de Cuisine on guest ranches in Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, and California.

As a native of Pennsylvania, Chef Brown is grateful to be teaching his craft and making an impact on children back in his home state.
