Student Services Staff
Chairperson/Guidance Counselor - Mrs. Laura Peterson Ext. 208
Mrs. Peterson has been employed as a member of the Crawford County Carer and Technical Center Student Services staff since July 2019. Mrs. Peterson attended Maplewood High School and is a graduate of the former Crawford County AVTS Child Care program. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Developmental Psychology at Edinboro University (2013) as well as a Masters in K-12 School Counseling (2015). She loves spending time with her family, playing with her dogs, and reading.
Special Populations - Mr. Gary Decker Ext. 209
Mr. Decker has been part of the CCCTC staff as the Special Populations Coordinator since September of 2014. Mr. Decker obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Thiel College for Sociology and Secondary Education Studies, and a Masters of Education in Special Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. His former experience includes Learning Support and Regular Education classroom teaching experience for 10+ years. Mr. Decker and his family participate in many activities for individuals with disabilities in the community setting.
Guidance Secretary - Ms. Christine Jordan Ext. 210
Mrs. Jordan has been employed as a member of the Student Services staff at Crawford County Career Technical Center since July 1990. She obtained her Advanced Secretarial certification June 1990 at Crawford County CTC. A life-long resident of northwestern Pennsylvania, she considers it a privilege to assist students in exploring how their abilities fit with career options. Her personal interests are family, church community, gardening and sewing.
The Student Services staff is available to any High School student who is attending or is interested in attending Crawford County Career and Technical Center.
Some of the services that may be provided:
◉ Guiding students through the Admission Process to Crawford County Career and Technical Center
◉ A Career Lab which provides resources for students.
◉ Helping students through the college/post-secondary search process.
◉ Providing guidance and resources to make the job-interview process easier.
◉ Scholarship search
◉ In-school tutoring
All high school students attending the Crawford County CTC, are required to have a Student Portfolio upon graduation. While the instructor is the main source of guidance in the Student Portfolio, Student Services provides guidance and resources to help students navigate the process. As with all the staff at Crawford County CTC, it is the goal of Student Services to make a student's education as rewarding and productive as possible.
